Description
The Colt Combat Commander is a compact variant of the classic Colt 1911 platform, introduced in 1970 as an evolution of the earlier Commander models. Featuring a 4.25-inch barrel and a shortened slide assembly, it was designed to provide improved portability while maintaining the reliability and handling characteristics of the full-size Government Model.
Typically chambered in .45 ACP, though also produced in other calibers, the Combat Commander operates in traditional single-action 1911 fashion and includes familiar features such as a thumb safety, grip safety, and crisp trigger pull. Available in both lightweight (aluminum frame) and all-steel configurations over the years, the Combat Commander remains a respected and enduring variation within the Colt 1911 family.
Crisp Clean Barrel. Nice finish.
