Description
Action Arms IMI UZI Pistol .45 ACP – Original Box & Original IWI Israel Magazine
The Action Arms IMI UZI Pistol in .45 ACP is a distinctive and highly collectible example of one of the most recognizable firearm designs of the 20th century. Manufactured by Israel Military Industries (IMI) and imported into the United States by Action Arms, the UZI Pistol represents an important chapter in the history of the UZI family and its development for the American civilian market.
This particular example is chambered in .45 ACP and is offered with its original box and one original IWI Israel magazine, making it an especially interesting package for collectors of classic IMI firearms and historically significant UZI variants.
A Distinctive IMI UZI Variant
The UZI Pistol was developed specifically for the American commercial market as a semiautomatic pistol version of the UZI family. Action Arms began selling the UZI Pistol in the United States in 1984, and the pistol was offered in both 9mm and .45 ACP configurations. Unlike the familiar full-size UZI carbine, the UZI Pistol was designed without a shoulder stock and incorporated a compact receiver and pistol configuration.
The .45 ACP version is particularly interesting to collectors. Historical UZI references document that Action Arms offered the .45 ACP UZI Pistol and discontinued the .45 ACP version in 1989, making examples from this period an appealing part of the IMI UZI collecting community.
The UZI Pistol was a genuine IMI product rather than a modern reproduction. Contemporary and historical references identify the UZI Pistol as a closed-bolt, semiautomatic design developed from the UZI family for the civilian handgun market.
.45 ACP Configuration
Chambered in .45 ACP, this UZI Pistol represents one of the less-common caliber configurations associated with the original IMI UZI Pistol. Historical UZI documentation identifies original IMI .45 ACP magazines, including 10-round magazines marked “.45 ACP IMI Israel.”
The included magazine is described as one original IWI Israel magazine, adding an additional piece of Israeli-manufactured equipment to this collector package.
Original Box
One of the particularly desirable features of this firearm is the inclusion of its original box.
Original packaging can be an important consideration for collectors of vintage IMI firearms because period-correct packaging helps document the history and provenance of an individual example. UZI collector references specifically document the original blue plastic UZI Pistol box and note that the pistol originally shipped with its magazine, sight-adjustment tool, owner’s manual, and registration card.
The presence of the original box therefore adds considerable collector interest to this particular offering.

Collector Appeal
The Action Arms IMI UZI Pistol occupies a unique place in the history of American-imported Israeli firearms. It was not simply a shortened version of the familiar UZI carbine; IMI developed the pistol specifically for the commercial handgun market, and Action Arms introduced it to American buyers in the mid-1980s.
The combination of IMI manufacture, Action Arms importation, .45 ACP chambering, original box, and original Israeli magazine makes this an especially interesting example for collectors who appreciate historically significant UZI variants.
This is the kind of firearm that stands apart from contemporary production handguns. Its appeal comes not only from the iconic UZI design, but also from its connection to the early American commercial history of IMI firearms and Action Arms.
For collectors of IMI, Action Arms, Israeli-manufactured firearms, and historically significant semiautomatic UZI variants, this .45 ACP UZI Pistol presents an opportunity to acquire a particularly distinctive example with important original accessories and packaging.
